Expanded Perlite
Thanks to its unique properties after expansion:
- Very lightweight and aerated
- Brittle material
- Neutral material
- Volcanic material resistant to fire up to 1300°C
- Material with open porosity
- High liquid absorption capacity
These features give it an advantage in various applications in construction and industry:
In construction:
It is used as a main component in gypsum plaster and thermal plaster.
When mixed with cement, it is used to produce lightweight thermal concrete for insulating concrete roofs and as a sound-absorbing leveling layer under tiles.
- Thermal, acoustic, and fire-resistant insulating material with ideal absorption capacity for filling voids
- For the production of lightweight, fire-resistant blocks and panels
In industry:
- For cryogenic insulation at extreme temperatures below zero and above 1000°C for insulating liquefied gas tanks, hazardous chemicals, and in air separation industry
- Floating insulation material in metal casting and galvanizing industry
- For fine filtration of liquids such as water, oils, and beverages
