Exfoliated vermiculite can be used as a replacement for dense aggregates to produce a lightweight insulating concrete. This finds use as in-situ roof and floor screeds and in the fabrication of precast products. It is also used as a back fill where improved insulation is required.

Lightweight concrete of vermiculite is suitable to be us for insulation & fireproof.

 

Vermiculite Plasters

Light weight plasters based on gypsum or cement mixes have high coverage, good workability, excellent fire resistance and very good adhesion to low suction backgrounds. They can be hand or spray applied.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Loose Fill Insulation

Loose fill vermiculite can be used between joists in decks and lofts. The free flowing properties of exfoliated vermiculite make installation very simple. The insulating properties of vermiculite significantly reduce the loss of heat in cold weather and keep the interior cool in hot weather. It also functions as a sound absorbent material.

 

Swimming Pool Liners

Various mixes of exfoliated vermiculite, Portland cement and special additives are avaible to line swimming pools.

These create a firm resilient base for vinyl liners and insulate a pool bottom from cold ground temperatures. If change in water table levels occur the porous base avoids problems. For above ground pools exfoliated vermiculite can produce a soft resilient pad for the liner.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fire Protection

A range of products, from boards and panels to spray applied plasters, use the excellent fire resistance properties of exfoliated vermiculite.

 

Friction Linings

High quality vermiculite grades are used extensively in the friction lining industry for products such as brake and clutch linings.

Vermiculite is the safe alternative to asbestos which was previously used.

Packing Material

Exfoliated vermiculite is easily poured around irregular shaped objects and provides a cushion against shock during handling and transportation.

Being highly absorbent, exfoliated vermiculite is an ideal material in the event of a leak with liquids.

 

Absorption / Carrier Application

Expended vermiculite readily absorbe many liquids. Because of it is low bulk density and high surface area which makes it an ideal bulking agent and liquids carrier.
